Campus Plus Newspapers
Newspaper Profile
High levels of frequency and readership combined with on-campus penetration make student newspapers the primary medium to reach post secondary students.
These newspapers are written and produced by students and are the primary information source about life on campus. Newspapers contain student-oriented coverage organized in distinct sections such as news, arts, entertainment and sports. They are distributed campus-wide in academic and recreation buildings, bars and eateries.
According to the Print Measurement Bureau (PMB) 2004 study, 83% of students read their student newspaper. About 50% of students read all of the last 4 issues of their student newspaper while 94% read 1 of the last 4 issues. (CCMR 2003). Students say that advertising in their campus newspaper is one of the best ways to reach them (CCMR 2003).
